This one has never failed to take my breath away! Painted on a background of soft blues and greens are the most beautiful roses you are ever going to see! Combined with the beautifully painted foliage, they simply dominate the front of this gorgeous piece. The reverse is painted with a smaller pairing of two wispy pink roses on a similar ground. Surprisingly, there is no artist signature!
The rich Roman gold on the rim and handles is impeccable, with the feet showing only the tiniest of wear. The base is marked with the William Guerin underglaze factory mark 3 in green that dates the blank from 1900-1932.
This cache pot stands 10 ½ inches tall and the mouth is 8 inches wide and 4 ½ inches across. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or any other losses to the painted surfaces.
