RAILROAD - UNION PACIFIC = WINGED STREAM LINER PATTERN, Cereal or Soup Bowl, Dessert Bowl and Saucer.
Three pieces of china by two different manufacturers. There are no visible utensil marks on any of the pieces. The bowls are in mint condition and the top of the saucer has never been used but there is a small chip on the underlip of the plate. I've tried to show it in the photos but it doesn't show up much. The Soup Bowl is 6.25 inch diameter and stands 2 inches tall, the back mark states Shenango China. The Dessert Bowl is 5.75 inches diameter and stands 1 inch tall, the back mark states Sterling China. The saucer is 5.50 inch diameter, the back mark states Sterling China.
The distinctive Winged Streamliner designed china was manufactured by several different makers, including Homer Laughlin, Syracuse China, Sterling and Trenton. The pattern features gold striping and a winged train emblem that is rust / red in color in a circle of green or teal. The pattern was first introduced in 1936.
