Four Hankscraft Ridged Egg Cups 1939, ivory color, Art Deco style. Three are in perfect, mint condition without crazing, or even a flea bite. One has had a minor repair, see photo, priced accordingly. I believe these were originally sold to go with the Hankscraft electric egg cooker. They look like they will match Fiesta Ware. These were manufactured in the late 1930's. These would make a wonderful way to display Easter eggs.
Interesting Note: Hankscraft Inc. was started in Madison, Wisconsin in 1920, based on an invention of Marshall Hanks. Mr. Hanks was an engineer working for the French Battery Co. in Madison, WI. His device used water to complete an electrical circuit between two electrodes. The heat from the closed circuit boiled water. When the water boils away, the circuit is broken and the device shuts off. From this invention, he patented an electric egg cooker, which became the company's first product.
