This vintage beater jar is stoneware with cobalt blue stripe around the middle and cobalt blue lettering. It states Use WESSON OIL For Shortening, Frying, Salad Dressings and Enriching Vegetables. The jar was used as a promotion item in 1923. It was probably made by Red Wing who produced much of the promo stoneware of the time but there is no marking. There is only one flea-bite on front center (see photo) and is priced accordingly. There is no crackling or any other flaws. It stands 5.50 inches tall and has a 4.50 inch diameter. Perfect for a country kitchen.
