This is a restaurant ware quality mustard pot by Wallace China. It is white vitrified china with a black band and a brown band which was a very popular pattern in china in the 1930s and 1940s. Various china manufacturers used this pattern. It showed up in restaurants, deli's and diners. It is in excellent condition without any chips or flea bites. I added the little porcelain spoon to make a complete set. It measures 4 inches tall and has a 3 inch diameter. I also like to use these little pots to serve slice pickled chili peppers and chili sauces. Would be a nice addition to the Thanksgiving table.
Note: Restaurant ware, hotel ware (and railroad china) is vitrified, ceramic tableware which exhibits high mechanical strength and is produced for use in hotels and restaurants. Tableware used in railway dining cars, passenger ships and airlines are also included in this category. Since restaurant ware is subject to heavy use, it is made to resist chipping and cracking
