This wonderful old menorah was someone's heirloom antique Eastern European menorah. It most likely is from Poland and is made of molded brass with 7 lovely banded branches denoting a menorah used for The Sabbath or for everyday. The shamash sits atop a Star of David (Jewish Star). There is some marks on it from the original casting. Or, they are from use in the over 100 years it has been utilized. There is some old candle wax still on it and it has lovely patina. It measures 9 inches wide and stands 10.5 inches tall. The base has a 4 inch diameter. You can tell this candelabra is old by the way it stands as well as the patina and lack of modern screws, etc. This is a museum quality piece. I love the history of the piece and can only think of the previous families that lit their Sabbath table with this piece. Would make a perfect Hanukkah gift.
NOTE: the menorah (7-branched candelabra) is the official emblem of the State of Israel and the ancient symbol of the Jewish people.
