The original of this map was authored by Henricus (Hendrick) Hondius (1597-1651). The original map is circa 1600. Map is titled Sveciae Norvegiae Et Danlae, Nova Tabula. The original is in the W.S. Hoole Special Collections Library. This navigation map was most likely copied from the original & is amazing. It has wonderful details, illustrations of ships, polar bears, swords, mountain ranges, weird monster fish, etc. It has been matted on green in a brown wooden frame. The outside measurements are 24" x 23". The glass is glare-free. The colors of the map are clear & bright and it is easy to read as it has been preserved under glass very well. The back has cardboard held in place with nails. This is a lovely piece of history & makes for a wonderful piece to have in your home or office.
