This is an unusual brass oil menorah in the bench style, circa 1900. It is North African / Moroccan from the 19th century. It is like other works with this type of cast workmanship as described in the book Lighting the Way to Freedom by Yaniv Ben Or. It stands 5 inches tall and is 4.25 inches wide. There are 8 cups on the bottom portion to hold the oil for each night of Hanukkah and one cup on the top to serve as the servant light. The motif is very scrolled with a bird on the top left and on the top right; it looks almost looks like fighting cocks. The condition is very good. There is green verdigris on the back that can be cleaned off. I will leave that for the new owner as some like the natural result that age contributes. It weighs well over a pound. It will continue to go up in value and rarity.
