Tales From Shakespeare by Charles and Mary Lamb, N.Y. Hurst and Company Publishers, Victorian era binding. The book is small (4" x 6") and has burgundy cloth boards with silver gilt ornate writing and motif on cover and spine. There is an inscription in the book on both end pages that states "To Madge from Raymond, December 25, 1897". It is in pencil and can be erased. I kind of like it as it adds character to a used book. (It also helps to date the book as no copyright or date it was printed). There are 233 pages. The pages have slight foxing on the edges & only one page has about a one-inch separation from the binding (priced accordingly). A nice little book that is easy to carry around... over 25 "Tales From Shakespeare". This would make a wonderful gift.
