Wouldn't this make a stunning gift displayed with a single red rose floating in it? This is a rare find. It is a floral container that has not been manufactured in years and years and is very difficult to find (not many have survived). The dish measures 8 1/2" x 8 1/2", is patterned (waffle like pattern) glass with a minty green veneer. The top piece is called a mesa and is black plastic. It measures 9 1/8" x 9 1/8" with a 4 1/2" opening that is 2 1/2" deep. These containers were made by Diamond Line. This one is in fantastic condition. If you like a mid century modern look you will like this piece. I love it because it reminds me of all the art deco floral arrangements we see in the vintage movies from the 1940's or in books about flower arranging. Also, the colors of black and green look so good together when paired with an arrangement. It can be used to float a candle or flower as well. You can put a good sized floral frog into the opening (Ikeban style) and place tall flowers for a very dramatic effect.
