Beautiful hand painted German art pottery from the Jugendstil era, circa 1890-1910.
A vase of conical form with unique bulbous and flanged 'garlic top', entirely hand painted in-the-round centering a profile portrait bust of a young woman with Madonna lilies in her hair, among apple blossom in a springtime rural landscape, signed by the artist in the decoration: J. Henseler, a well-listed name on Royal Bonn pottery.
Date. Circa first decade of the 1900s according to the artwork & backstamp.
Backstamp: "F.A.M" monogram for Franz Anton Mehlem with "Royal Bonn, Germany" and factory shape and decoration numbers.
Condition: Excellent, no chips, cracks, losses or repairs. There's a scratch on the girl's neck (see images) otherwise in flawless condition.
