A beautiful vintage circa 1946 silver plated serving tray from the Bellevue Stratford Hotel in Philadelphia. This incredible tray weighs over 6 pounds empty, and features a beautiful raised border. It’s one of the finest hotel silver trays I’ve seen in quite a while! It looks a lot like the round oyster or seafood trays that were designed to be filled with crushed ice to display shellfish, but I’ve never seen one in this shape or large size before. Because of the raised lip this would be perfect for crudites and cheese/charcuterie platters, and would also look beautiful on a home bar to corral bottles and decanters. Excellent condition, no dents or damage. It has polished up beautifully with some minor scratches in the center but no large spots of plate loss or discoloration. Marked on the front with the hotel name, and on the back with international silver marks and a date stamp for the year 1946.
This huge tray measures 19.75 inches long by 13 inches wide.
