A big & beautiful antique copper mixing or whisking bowl with tin interior and iron hanging loop. This is clearly a hand-crafted piece, most likely from the mid-late 1800s. The bowl has a rolled upper rim. The dovetail craftsmanship is superb! This is a big piece that was probably used in a bakery or commercial kitchen.
There are some light scratches, minor cosmetic bumps & blemishes and a bit of patina around the handle, as would be expected for antique copper cookware. It is marked J.Y. WATKINS & SON 16 CATHERINE ST. NEW YORK. James Watkins & Son provided high-end kitchens and cookware to some of the finest hotels, restaurants and households in New York from 1830 to the early 1900s.
Measures 13” diameter at top by 10” high; weighs nearly 6 pounds empty!
