Rare Japanese, small cabinet that is perfect to use as dollhouse furniture. This footed piece is made of black gilt lacquered wood. The hardware is fabulous and all intact and original. The handles are a brick red or oxblood color and textured with a fancy pattern, The art work includes golden cranes, a gold fly, a sweet gold bird and a gold and red grasshopper as well as fruit. The gold paint is thick and textured. This is such a unique and hard to find doll item. The drawers all open and close easily. The key is missing on the door that swings open.
This nineteenth century cabinet has survived in very good antique condition. It is a treasure that has been cherished. It has survived well over the years and is architecturally intact with no repairs to its structure. One handle is missing on the bottom shelf, one handle is on backwards and part of the right foot on the back is missing. This does not detract.
It is 10" high x 8" wide at the base from foot to foot and 3.5" deep
