The central medallion of green glass floating on a circular sea of clear glass depicts none other than the famous Baroque composer, Johann Sebastian Bach. The artist’s birth and death years are inscribed on both sides of his likeness (1685-1750), while his name rests under his bust. The back of the plate is frosted glass, where the Daum signature and country of origin are found. Daum is one of the foremost French glass makers. The plate is dated to 1920 and is 545 / 2000. This is a beautiful memoir to one of the geniuses of the musical world and would look lovely next to any piano or resting on a mantelpiece in his honor.
