Intricate floral designs of light and dark red-orange cover the entire box. A wavy border made of autumn leaves surrounds the edge of the lid. This border is complemented by two classic Herend golden flower designs. The box itself is plain white, save for three separate red-orange flower designs and a golden border around the circumference of the top of the box. The top of the lid holds the most beautiful design on the piece. Red-orange leaves and a marigold point outward in all directions with waves in the porcelain itself emanating forth in a circular spinning pattern. This adorable box hails from the famous Herend factory in Hungary. The Herend Porcelain Manufactory, founded in 1826, is a Hungarian company specializing in luxury hand painted and gilded porcelain. It has the distinction of being the purveyor to the Hapsburg Dynasty in mid-19th Century Europe. Many of its classic patterns are still in production.
