A beautiful Dutch piece dating to the 1920s, this Gouda style ceramic was manufactured in Arnhem, Holland. Influenced by Art Nouveau, the piece has a dark background with lovely floral patterns in earthy tones. A mellow yellow leafed flower, a creamy blue leaf connected via a dark brown branch all sit nicely on pale strokes that contrast nicely with the dark black background. The inside is the same pale blue that complements the pottery's outer background. As for the shape of the piece, it has a somewhat thin bottom that rounds out near the top, before coming back in to form a ring-like lip to the upper portion of the piece. These ceramics were made in only a ten year span, so their unique floral patterns are unmatched. A great Gouda piece for the avid collector of a bygone Dutch era.
