This fine example of Torquay (English) pottery dates to c. 1925. Its earthy form matches its natural content. The side of the vase shows a peacock perching in a tree. The handsome bird is a mixture of greens, reds, and yellows. His tail is particularly exquisite. He sits beautifully against a solid blue background. Lovely green grass encircles the bottom, complementing the leaves in the tree. Three curved handle near the top add to the local craftsman feel. This piece would make a great gift for any bird collector or Torquay collector.
