Circa 1950, this handmade Austrian folk man looks as though it is alive. Shining with vibrant blues, yellows, and oranges, the mandolin player turned ceramic figure rests on one knee as he playfully lulls his instrument. The artist, Leopold Anzengruber, was born March 30, 1912 and passed away on July 20, 1979, which led to the speedy demise of his company.
