The central portrait depicts two men rowing a boat on a lake with a hooded figure between them. This design is surrounded by a brown glaze with white garland design. The rear of the plate has a gorgeous brown and green glaze that gives off a beautiful sheen. The feet of the plate are medieval dolphins. This footed plate has the D marking on the end of three letters, which dates it to c. 1875. The kelly-green color in the center of the plate was the Wedgwood specialty at the time. Artists would stamp a graphic that they would later glaze over to create stunning plates like this one.
