Hungarian Herend Porcelain Lemon Motif Covered Dish
A single lemon sits atop the cover’s peak, accompanied by slices of lemon on the sides. A yellow ribbon matches the color palette, as does the creamy white and green. Two handles are found on the side. The piece is marked on the bottom. The Herend Porcelain Manufactory, founded in 1826, is a Hungarian company specializing in luxury hand painted and gilded porcelain. It has the distinction of being the purveyor to the Hapsburg Dynasty in mid-19th Century Europe. Many of its classic patterns are still in production.
