Dating to c. 1860, this Russian teapot is a true gem. The shape is very unique with its long, elongated body. While the lid is below the lip of the body, the finial still emerges above it. The spout is the head and neck of some sort of mythical creature (dragon?). The handle contains the creature's tail. A beautiful white background supports the blues, pinks, and golds that make up the decorative aspects of the teapot. The piece is in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. This would make a perfect addition to any teapot collection.
