Two hunter green American farmers show the country’s past connection to the ground. One sculpture depicts a woman with shawl covering her head. She carries a large bowl. The other figure is a shirtless man with a shovel dug firm into the earth. Each piece sits on a simple square pedestal. These gorgeous hunter green figures are unusual and rare. Dating to c. 1950, they are a part of the famous Royal Haeger line of Haeger Potteries. Designed by artist Hickman, the sculptures are called “Harvest”. These working class images are proud manifestations of the American spirit.
