These metallic sconces are exemplars from the Arts and Crafts Movement. The rustic look causes the focus of the piece to be on the material itself rather than the ornaments (the latter serving the former, not vice versa). Here a simple circular glass mirror is surrounded by a copper form in the shape of a diamond. The corners of the piece curve around instead of jutting straight out. Four brass circles attach the thin sheet of copper to the iron in the back, where the hook for hanging the sconces lies. At the bottom of the piece are a pair of brass candle holders. They also curve away from the form, bringing balance to the object. These sconces are the perfect addition to any Arts and Crafts Movement motif.
