This delightful and rare bronze Japanese Koi fish dates to the 19th C. It stares blindly ahead as it swims along a pond floor. Water plants are visible on its right flank, while the fish's body curves to its left. Each layer of gills, every individual scale and the lines along the rear and side fins show an attention to detail by the artist. A lovely piece for a paper weight or just to gaze at as an ornament gracing your desk.
