This intriguing Victorian Tap Bell is a gem from a bygone era. It still rings clearly! Common at hotel desks, the receptionist would ring the bell to summon bell hops. The design is exquisite. The finial is a round arrow shape, with leaves on both sides. The bell itself is quite plain and half of a sphere. This causes the designs on the top and bottom of the piece to really catch the eye. The tapper is plain on top, while the arm has a more intricate design. The stem is rectangular in shape and also has a different leafy pattern. The base of the tap bell has nine separate pieces that are all the same design. Again the leaf motif prevails, bringing unity to the overall composition. A wonderful item for any desk.
