This bronze belt buckle dates to the Art Nouveau period (late 19th C. - early 20th C.). It depicts a beautiful woman with long flowing hair in the style of the day. Her face is turned so that we see the left portion of her face only. Flowers clothe her, which shows the connection between man and nature that the period exemplified. The edge of the buckle is very curvy. The roundness and non-symmetrical pattern of the entire piece also contribute to the back to nature mood of the time. This belt buckle would make a precious gift for any person who loves glamorous accessories of a bygone era.
