Stunning 19th century Italian glass chalice with religious motifs. The shape of the chalice resembles glass which had been made in Venice in the Renaissance period. The enameled painted motifs in shades of blue, yellow, and red stem from early Christianity. The chalice is a good example of the historic revival style at the end of the 19th Century.
The Chalice was reviewed by the Corning Museum of Glass in New York in 2004. Please see their assessment in the last picture.
Measures 5.25" tall, 5.75" wide at the top, and 4" wide at the base. In excellent antique condition; wear consistent with age. Please see pictures for details.
