This beautiful menorah dates to the 19th C. It is made of sterling silver (mark 835) and is ornately designed. These marks can be seen on the right hand side near the shamash. At the top is a crown with an image of two lions standing on opposite sides of a centrally located menorah. On the right side of this image is the shamash (the lighting candle). Beneath this back piece are the eight candles of Chanukah. Below the candles are words inscribed from the Hanerot Halalu hymn in Hebrew. They translate as, "These lights are sacred." This piece would be a wonderful piece for any Chanukah celebration.
