This Cowan Pottery piece is a beautiful beaker style vase with a slight footing that is sponge painted with a brownish red with tinges of yellow. The paint graduates from a dark to light from top to bottom. Cowan was an important potter in the transition from Victorian to Modern pottery in America. His factory was located in Cleveland, Ohio. This piece is a classic example of his work.
