A small bronze plaque by famed 19th century artist Daniel Dupuis (signed), measures approximately 2.6" x 1.6" and is marked "bronze" on the bottom. Depicts a woman, Joan of Arc, wearing a long, tunic-like dress with a lamb at her side, holding what appears to be a staff and gazing off into space, being guided or directed by some sort of angel. She is surrounded by trees and tall grasses, and the original patina of the bronze serves to darken that border of foliage, an uncommon and unique effect. Additionally, the back bears a floral motif with one long stem, and is detailed with a stylised "AL" and a fleur-de-lis, above which reads "Jeanne D'Arc Liberatrice Du Territoire," French for "Joan of Arc, Liberation of the Terrain." Item is in perfect original condition. Shipping costs to be determined upon location.
