*Vintage Taxco Mexico Victoria Ana Maria Nunez de Brilanti Married Metals “Angel” Necklace Bracelet Earrings Parure

While the Angle design is one of Ana Brilanti's most popular and enduring designs I have yet to see another like this one with the "Metales Casados or married metals" and especially having the necklace, bracelet and earrings all in one. The pieces feature sterling silver and copper. The creation of married metals was introduced during the golden age of Taxco jewelry in the 1950's. It is a time consuming and difficult process and was executed by only the most skilled jewelers.

The necklace measures 14" (not including the clasp) by 1/2" wide and weighs 23.7 grams. Fully hallmarked with Victoria's mark. It has a box clasp. Very good vintage condition.

The bracelet measures 6 1/2 long by 7/8" wide and weighs 19.7 grams with a safety chain and box clasp. Also fully hallmarked. Very good vintage condition.

The screw back earrings measure 7/8" long and have a total weight of 4.9 grams. Also marked. PLEASE NOTE: one of the earrings is missing the "cap" but this does not hinder the wearability. Please see picture.

Most likely from the 50's.

Ana was known for her desire for perfection and excellence ~ this is quite evident in the "invisible" seams and smooth appearance of her mixed/married metals jewelry that she is so well known for. Maestra Brilanti perfected the married metals technique but had to abandon the process in the 1970's because it became too costly to produce. According to Penny C. Morrill and Carole A. Berk in their fabulous book, MEXICAN SILVER , silver pieces from VICTORIA were always made of 980 silver (which is almost pure silver) even though they were marked 925 to comply with Mexican regulations.
