Jeannette Glass was a company founded in the late 1880's in Jeanette, Pa., and you have to love a man who named a town and a business in homage to his wife! This two-piece powder bowl is an iconic design that dates back to between the 1930s-'50s. It's a bit easier to find the reddish-toned bowls to those featuring this lovely blue-and-green coloration. There is a groove built into the swan's back which was designed to hold a lipstick.
Measurements are 5" high x 4" across. This lovely vintage piece of glassware, should you not be in the old-fashioned habit of wearing loose powder, would also be ideal as a trinket or candy bowl. In basically very good vintage condition and we find no chips or cracks; however, there is so wear to the blue color on the very bottom portion of the bowl, this being most noticeable where a price sticker was on the underside, which is of course of little import when the bowl is displayed. (Please see photos.) For this reason, this collectible is being offered at a specially reduced, as-is price.
