The boxes are somewhat faded but the artful depictions of underwater life contained inside are still in wonderful vintage condition. The delicacy and luminosity should be seen to be believed. One scene features what appear to be two langostinos and smaller fish swimming near deep-sea foliage. The other features two large mustached fish (perhaps catfish) swimming near coral. There are even bubbles in the area of their mouths. Matted, wooden-framed, and under glass, each measures 11" x 8 1/2" in total.
The intricately carved MOP pieces has been mounted on some sort of green board and the back of each hanging is composed of wood. There is a sticker on one back with Asian characters and a long string of numbers that may denote the style number. At the bottom of each print there are red Asian characters that are perhaps signatures of the artists.
