Mrs. Walter Keane had her big eye subjects; this artist had his big-haired sitter. This mid-century painting measures approx. 24" x 19 1/2". ZI have studied and studied the signature and researched the artist, sans luck. At any rate, he has three names, the first of them being either "Pedro" or "Pandro." Middle and surnames are something on the order of "Augus" and "Tieri."
On the back of the frame, what was evidently the initial selling price of $800 is listed. Also, there is a pencil notation "Property of..." with the name being to faded by time to read.
There is wear to the frame and its built-in fabric matting (Please see third photo.) but the painting itself is in fine vintage condition and the colors still bright and intense. This one's a wonderful example of the popular art of a particular period.
