For sale here is a RARE set of vintage 1950s 60s signed Japan Air Defense Force hand crafted sterling silver cufflinks with matching tie bar in the original box. The inscription on the box - (KOUKUUBAKURYOUCHOU) - means, "JASDF Chief of Staff." That is the title of the JASDF Commander. The literal translation is, "Aviation Staff Chief." (This set was probably a gift to a foreign counterpart working in Japan or to a high-level visitor.) Cufflinks measure 5/8" wide, the tie bar measures 1-3/8" across, and the set weighs 15.8 grams total. Marked at backs as shown, "Silver" usually refers to at least 925 sterling, but can be as high as 950 sterling silver, and a star-shaped maker mark. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
