For sale here is an IMPORTANT one of a kind vintage 1960s 70s handmade sterling silver modernist brutalist link bracelet by mid-century silversmith/enamelist James Parker of San Diego California. James Parker's jewelry was always hand-fabricated one of a kind, and never cast, made in multiples, or mass-produced. This is only the second James Parker bracelet that I have come across in my entire 40+ year career, and I've seen a lot of his jewelry and enamel pieces! Parker laboriously flame-sculpted each link from silver sections that were added on top of each other in an additive process that involved many steps to produce the final depth and heft. The links were then reticulated to produce the wrinkled texture and oxidized to create the dark depths of the design. The individual links were joined using heavy bead-tipped silver wire inter-links, which was also used for the hook closure. It easily could have taken Parker a week's work to complete this single bracelet! Very smooth at back and comfortable to wear despite it's weight and craggy topography at front! Measures 7" wearable length by 1-1/4" widest, and weighs a super hefty 110 grams or 3.53 troy ounces. Marked at back as shown with the James Parker conjoined JP maker mark, also "Hand Made". Tested and guaranteed to be as described. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description and my policies, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers by serious buyers.
