For sale here is a SUPERB large one-of-a-kind pair of vintage 1960s 70s handmade modernist Brutalist sterling silver cufflinks by James Parker of San Diego California. James Parker's jewelry was always one of a kind never made in multiples or in production. This particular pair are incredibly labor-intensive, and must have taken hours to fabricate by hand! Each little piece of sculptural abstract-shaped silver at front was flame-formed and reticulated to create the overall form and the surface texture, after which these pieces were seated on little blocks underneath them to raise them up and give the design depth. The front pieces seated on their little blocks were then soldered to the irregular outlined back plate. The entire front of the cufflink was oxidized to create the dark sections, and polished in some areas to create the highlights. Measure 1" by 1", and the pair weigh a hefty 25 grams total. Marked with James Parker's maker mark as shown, also "Sterling" and "Hand Made". Excellent vintage condition with some fine light wear and tarnish as shown in the photos - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
