For sale here is a HUGE superb rare 1950s 60s handmade mixed metals sterling silver brass black onyx and turquoise Mexican geometric modernist design bolo tie by maestro Tono of Taxco, and from his early Piedra Negra (black stone) line of jewelry. This is the one of only a handful of bolo ties by Tono that I've run across in my 40+ years of collecting/buying/selling vintage jewelry! There is a design number (T234) so I know it's not one of a kind, but I'm guessing that very few were made. In any case, a superb design with the usual superlative craftsmanship and in an extra large format which makes this a prize for the collector!!
The slide measures 3-5/8" long (including the dangles) by 1-3/8" wide, the terminals measure 1" by 3/8", the black cord measures approx 38" total length, and the entire item weighs 46.4 grams total. Marked at back as shown, "Tono Piedra Negra Cecilia Hecho en Mexico T234", also "Sterling 925 Taxco" in a circle around "AC".
Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
