For sale here is a RARE vintage 1985 handmade copper enamel framed and matted artwork triptych titled "Shorebirds" by Oregon artist Elizabeth Hoffman Dasch. This artwork consists of three copper enamel plaques raised about a black fabric background with a gilt-wood frame surrounding it. The artwork is titled "Shorebirds" and dated 1985 on the original gallery plate at back which also has the original gallery price at the time of $360.
Elizabeth Hoffman Dasch (1912-2009) was born in Portland Oregon. She attended Smith College in the 1930s where she met and became life-long friends with the famed chef Julia Child who became the godmother of her daughter. In the 1950s she went back to school to complete her college degree in art and education at Portland State University, after which she became a working artist. She and her husband Fred moved to Gig Harbor Washington in 1963, and she continued to hone her skills as an enamelist producing both enamel artwork and jewelry. She sold her artwork and jewelry in galleries in Oregon and Arizona. She died in 2009.
This artwork measures 15-1/2" by 7" by 1-3/8" deep. Original gallery plaque at back as shown in photos. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear to the frame, and the enamel is flawless - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase.
