For sale here is a rare possibly one of a kind vintage 1990s handmade bronze sterling silver 14K and 18K abstract geometric modernist design brooch pin by American artist and metalsmith, Patricia Telesco. The design at front resembles illustrations from geometry textbooks. Here's a short bio from her website...
"Patricia received her BA in Painting and Art History from Florida Atlantic University and her MS in Craft Design, Metalsmithing and Enameling from Florida State University. Telesco has exhibited throughout the US and abroad including shows in the SOFA New York as well as SOFA Chicago, Smithsonian Craft Show, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Smithsonian Institution, Shipley Arts Gallery in England and Tokyo Central Museum in Japan as well as a solo exhibition in the Huntsville Museum of Art.
Her work has been reviewed and featured in Metalsmith, American Craft and Ornament. Her awards include The Special International Award from the Tokyo Central Museum, Men’s Jewelry Design Award and Solitaire Jewelry Design Award from Diamond Information Center and DeBeers Consolidated Mines, LTD. in New York. In 1999 she received the State of Florida Individual Artist’s Fellowship and in 1993 she received the Southern Arts Federation/National Endowment for the Arts Regional Visual Arts Fellowship.
She is part of the permanent collections of Florida State University, The White House, The Huntsville Museum of Art, Slide Library of The Society of North America Goldsmiths and numerous Private Collectors. Pat Telesco lives in Gainesville, Florida."
This brooch is made of bronze and sterling silver mostly, with the frame in 14K gold, and overlay in the design at front in both 14K and 22K gold.
The brooch is numbered "XXXV-1" which I tend to believe means that this is a one of a kind. It's marked at back with that information, as well as marked "CUSN" (bronze), "SS" for sterling silver, also "14K" and "22K". Also marked "Telesco". I found a similar brooch online that was dated to the mid-1990s, and I'm sure that this one must have been made about the same time. It seems that Telesco isn't making jewelry anymore, but now specializes in sterling flatware and other objects, and I suggest going to her website to see her incredible designs in that genre. Excellent vintage condition with some slight wear at back as shown, but not at all noticeable when worn - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
