STRIKING Vintage 1960s 70s Signed GGC Cuernavaca Handmade Sterling & Copper Mexican Modernist pre Columbian FACE Design PENDANT - image 1 of 4

For sale here is a STRIKING vintage 1960s 70s handmade sterling silver and copper mixed metals Mexican modernist pre Columbian Face design pendant signed by maker GGC of Cuernavaca Mexico. An entirely handmade modernist design based on an ancient mesoamerican design of a face with dangling earrings and with the tongue protruding in what is likely a fertility gesture ie an expression thought to encourage the growth of crops. Hand engraved details to the sterling face with copper eyes and copper tongue. This pendant would look great on a chain, a black cord, or even a neckring! Measures 1-1/2" by 1-3/4" wide, and weighs about 4 grams total. Marked at back as shown with maker mark "GGC" also "Sterling Cuernavaca" and additional marks that are either too worn or badly struck to read. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
