For sale here is a HUGE set of vintage 1980s signed handmade hammered sterling silver and brass mixed metals Mexican modernist pendant on neckring necklace with matching pierced earrings. A stunning set that makes a statement when worn! The pendant measures 3" long by 2-3/8" wide, and hangs on a neckring that fits up to 17" neck. The earrings measure 2" long by 1-1/4" wide. (The rings on the earrings splay out when worn to look like a model of an atom!) The set weighs 2.3 ounce or roughly 70 grams total. The neckring is marked "Mex 925". The pendant has maker mark "CII" also "Mexico 925" (inside the bail), and the earrings are marked the same as the pendant. The maker "CII" is one of those little-known Mexican silversmithies that produced great work, but unfortunately escaped documentation and thus not much is known about them. In this case, the work speaks for itself! A great modernist set with superlative craftsmanship! PLEASE NOTE: one of the ball terminals on the neckring screws off, and thus the neckring can be worn without the pendant, the pendant could be worn on a chain or cord instead, and thus more variations and flexibility in wearing the pieces in this set! Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase.
