For sale here is a SUPERB and quite rare vintage 1950s handmade metales casados (married metals) and sterling silver Mexican modernist fish-footed bowl by the Los Castillo taller in Taxco. A stunning design with a roughly oval sterling bowl with gilt interior and an undulating rim, and standing on four fish-shaped metales casados feet in blackened brass with copper and sterling inlay 'eyes'. Altogether an intricate and quite striking design that will look equally great on a dinner table or showcased on a shelf! Measures 6-7/8" long by 5-3/4" wide at top by 4-3/8" tall, and weighs 12.7 ounces or roughly 360 grams total. Marked on the underside as shown, "Handwrought Los Castillo Taxco Hecho en Mexico" and the Eagle 15. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown and with some thinning to the gilt wash on the interior of the bowl - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
