For sale here is a SUPER RARE vintage 1940s 50s handmade sterling silver and black onyx Mexican modernist pre-Columbian Flying Dragon Quetzalcoatl design necklace and bracelet set from the Onix Negro line of jewelry and objects by Los Castillo of Taxco. A fine modernist take on a pre-Columbian Flying Dragon most likely Quetzalcoatl in high contrast black onyx with gleaming silver! Most likely a Chato Castillo design, and definitely he invented the Onix Negro technique. The necklace measures 14" to 14.5" wearable length (could be easily increased with an extender chain or additional links, if desired) by 1-1/2" wide at front. The bracelet measures 1-3/8" wide at center top, with inside wearable just short of 7". The pair weigh about 150 grams total. Both pieces fully marked as shown, including "Los Castillo Taxco" in a circle around Eagle 15, with "Onix Negro" and design number 92. The necklace is marked with the same marks plus "Made in Mexico" and "Sterling". Both pieces have been tested and are guaranteed to be as described. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and some spots of tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
