For sale here is a very rare and quite fabulous vintage 1940s handmade sterling silver Carnations floral bouquet design brooch by Chato Castillo one of the four founding brothers of the Los Castillo taller in Taxco.
A very early design by Chato, and one that he did outside of the Los Castillo workshop for himself. His work is very rare compared to the output of the Los Castillo workshop, and this is the only example of this design that I have seen in my 45+ year career! A very detailed and dimensional design that makes quite a statement when worn! Would look amazing on a jacket or a blouse, or even on a hat! Measures 4-5/8" by 3-1/2" and weighs a hefty 38.5 grams total. Marked at back as shown, "Sterling Chato Mexico" and design number "107". Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase.
