For sale here is a SUPERB and quite large vintage 1950s 60s handmade sterling silver and multi-colored enamel Mexican modernist stylized figure brooch from Taxco. No doubt a Chato Castillo design for Los Castillo, this example is unsigned, and thus may have been made by one of their workers in his spare time to sell for extra money. This was an established practice in Taxco in all the larger talleres, and gave the workers an additional way to earn money, though they weren't allowed to use the studio marks for their extracurricular work. This fine example measures 2-5/8" tall by 1" wide and weighs 15 grams total. As noted above, this example is unsigned but no doubt a Los Castillo design, and has been tested and guaranteed to be as described. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase.
