For sale here is a RARE vintage 1950s handmade sterling silver and obsidian inlay Mexican modernist bracelet by maestro Felipe Martinez of Taxco. A very sculptural design with immaculate stone inlay which was the signature of this Taxco mid century maestro! Martinez studied sculpture in his early days before working with Hubert Harmon in the 1940s, and opened his own workshop Piedra Y Plata (Stone & Silver) in Taxco in the 1950s. The bracelet will fit up to 6-7/8" to 7" snugly, but for a more comfortable fit I suggest a 6.75" wrist or smaller. Also, the safety chain might have to be lengthened for a larger wrist. Measures 7/8" wide, and weighs a hefty 77.8 grams total. Marked inside as shown, "Martinez Piedra Y Plata", design number "147", Eagle #3, and "Sterling Taxco". V-spring and box closure is tight, and the original safety chain is intact and in place. I also have a striped necklace by Martinez for sale here in my Ruby Lane store - see my other listing by searching for the artist in my shop. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
