For sale here is a HUGE and rare vintage 1950s handmade 970 silver Mexican modernist Picasso-petroglyph figures belt buckle by maestro Antonio Pineda of Taxco. An incredible asymmetrical buckle that from one perspective looks like a predatory fish looking for a meal, but from another looks like a canvas for the highly-stylized petroglyph hunting figures so beloved of Mexican modernists in the mid-century! Measures an impressive 5" long by 2" wide and weighs a super-hefty 94.5 grams total. Marked at back with the Antonio Taxco crown mark, also "970 Silver", design number "PZ 178", "Hecho en Mexico" and Eagle 17.
