For sale here is a HUGE and rare 1960s one of a kind handmade copper enamel wood and lucite modernist design jewelry box by American artist/enamelist Annemarie Davidson (1920-2012, Germany) of Sierra Madre, California. Davidson was born in Germany, but moved to the US with her family, and later studied with prominent American enamelists Doris Hall and Curtis Tann in the 1950s, and is considered to be in the first rank of American enamel artists of the 20th century. An exceptional box of unique design, and the largest box by Davidson that I have seen in my 40+ year career! Measures 9-3/4" by 7" by 3" high. Has original tag inside as shown in my photos, and I'm guessing a one of a kind creation for a special client. The enamel plaque is in perfect condition with no chip, crazing or loss or damage. The wood box has some very fine minor scratching in spots, and retains the original hand-fabricated compartmentalized tray inside as shown. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
